Fundamentally, Lippens is interested in undecidability. This applies both to his favourite themes (memory, cultural sites and existential anxieties) and to the way he constructs his images, which are the result of hybridisations between media that defy categorisation. He thus creates open images, full of paradoxes, which they both provoke and contain.
