“Wij, Textiel en Kunst”
Participatief atelier voor jong en oud 

Ontdek met ons de wereld van textiel en kunst! In onze buurt ligt een schat aan afgedankte stoffen die wachten om herontdekt te worden. Samen geven we deze materialen een nieuw leven door ze te weven op een groot weefgetouw (2m2). Iedereen kan meedoen aan deze creatieve activiteit waarbij we gescheurde stoffen verzamelen, weven en beschilderen. Passeer en leer hoe je van stof, kunst maakt!

Oandris Tejeiro, geboren in Santiago de Cuba, is een kunstenaar gevestigd in Duitsland maar vaak te vinden in Molenbeek. Zijn werk reflecteert de Afro-Cubaanse cultuur en de strijd van Afro-Cubanen, met nadruk op hun stem in de samenleving. Geïnspireerd door buurten zoals Quartier Maritime, belicht hij in zijn kunst het leven binnen deze gemeenschappen.

Explorez le monde du textile et de l'art avec nous ! Notre quartier regorge de tissus usagés qui ne demandent qu'à être redécouverts. Ensemble, nous donnons une nouvelle vie à ces matériaux en les tissant sur un grand métier à tisser (2m2). Tout le monde peut participer à cette activité créative où nous collectons, tissons et peignons des tissus déchirés. Passez nous voir et apprenez à transformer le tissu en art !

Oandris Tejeiro, né à Santiago de Cuba, est un artiste basé en Allemagne mais que l'on retrouve souvent à Molenbeek. Son travail reflète la culture afro-cubaine et les luttes des Afro-Cubains, en se concentrant sur leur voix dans la société. Inspiré par des quartiers tels que le Quartier Maritime, son art met en lumière la vie au sein de ces communautés.

Explore the world of textiles and art with us! In our neighbourhood there is a wealth of discarded fabrics waiting to be rediscovered. Together, we give these materials a new life by weaving them on a large loom (2m2). Everyone can participate in this creative activity where we collect, weave and paint torn fabrics. Pass by and learn how to turn fabric, into art!
